When You’re Surrounded Yet Lonely

When was the last time you had a group of friends or relationships where you knew you could be 100% yourself and be encouraged for it?
Most of us don’t have true community.
The sad reality is that in this day and age, we’re more connected than ever, yet as known as little as ever. A quick Google search shows staggering statistics: we live in the loneliest generation even among Christian circles.
1 in 5 practicing Christians feel lonely on a daily basis.Do you think this is what Jesus had in mind for His followers?
You can go to church and not be known. You can go to church, know everyone’s name, and still have no one know your pain.
Solving the Problem
A few months ago, my wife and I decided to start leading a group. It has transformed our lives. My favorite day of the week is Wednesday night when I know we’ll be gathered with like-minded, Jesus centered individuals from different walks of life.
Start Today
Find a group or lead one that intentionally meets to grow in discipleship to Jesus. Not just to talk about problems, but to be the Church together.
Watch what God transforms when you begin.
Remember: you only have so many days on this earth. We take nothing with us when we die.Go all out. Take care of what’s been entrusted to you and die trying to become all that God made you to be.
Get intentional with community.
If this speaks to you, share it with someone who needs these words!
Talk to you soon,
Steven
